Dr. Newman is an Emergency Physician and Director of Clinical Research at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He is the author of the critically-acclaimed Hippocrates’ Shadow: Secrets From the House of Medicine. Dr. Newman has become a leading voice calling for reforms in health care—in the ways we deliver care and in the ’system’ in which the care is delivered. David H. Newman teaches at Columbia University and the Department of Emergency Medicine, Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. He also served as a major in the U.S. Army Reserves including a tour of duty with the 344th combat support hospital in Baghdad, where he received an Army Commendation Medal.
Dr. Shreves is an Emergency Physician who trained at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and until this year, worked there as an attending. She is currently doing a palliative care fellowship at Mt.
